Pure Genius

OK, can we take a moment to bow down and worship whoever wrote this? It's made my day, and it's not even 11am!

  1. My god. Is that for real?

“For too long, women have had an unfair advantage in the outcome of a pregnancy. UR-86 levels the playing field for husbands and boyfriends across America.”

Levels the playing field! So Mens rights is about having the right to kill a woman? There are no words to descibe how I feel right now.

  2. It’s not real – it’s from the Onion, a satirical website. I know things are pretty bad in America now but they’re not that bad!

  3. I feel so dumb right now. LOL. The way things are at the moment… hangs head in shame.

  4. Don’t worry about it! The way things are going over there, it won’t be too long before someone suggests this as a logical next step… 😉

  5. No shame, deviousdiva… The fact that you – and I – were “Oh My Godding” just goes to show that we feel that threat isn’t something they wouldn’t countenance. It’s evidence of how valued we feel as women in Western culture. It’s evidence of how few rights and how little ownership we feel we have over our own bodies.

Knowing now, that it’s satire…it’s really clever! (After a big ‘phew!’)

  6. Should I feel bad? I laughed when I read it and I can’t explain why. It’s as if this satire on the anti-choice lobby says that women matter, if they didn’t they joke simply wouldn’t work. But then, I’ll probably think about it some more and find some underlying misogyny
